Abstract

The purpose of the article is to highlight the essence and specifics of the student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process in post-basic secondary schools – efterskoles – in Denmark. The specified goal involves solving the following tasks: 1) to study and summarize the works of Danish teachers regarding the essence and specifics of the student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process in efterskoles in Denmark; 2) to study and describe examples of the adoption of a student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process from the Danish pedagogical experience of efterskoles, which ensure the development of the personal potential of students. The research used the following methods of scientific research: analysis of scientific and pedagogical sources on the researched problem; methods of interpretation and generalization of the Danish pedagogical experience; monographic method for a logical presentation of the obtained results.
In the course of the research, the works of Danish teachers regarding the role of a student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process in relation to the development of the personality potential of high school student youth in Danish efterskoles have been studied and summarized.
It is noted that the adoption of a progressive pedagogy-based student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process in efterskoles is manifested in the individualization and differentiation of learning (in particular, in intra-school differentiation – by levels and profiles). This is achieved through combinations of basic general education subjects and various elective subjects (subjects of cultural direction, profile subjects and subjects for the development of skills), as well as choosing the level of complexity and scope of mastery of certain academic subjects.
It has been found that in all Danish schools of the type under study, teaching is carried out according to the different academic levels of students in each subject, which gives you the opportunity to personalize the learning profile in order to increase the level of academic achievement of each student. Along with this, in Danish efterskoles, the diagnosis of the personal qualities of each student, counseling, as well as assistance to students in developing an individual study program are well organized.
It is stated that the main goal of the Danish efterskoles is to turn high school students into someone, that is, to form and support the directions of their individual work aimed at self-improvement and self-realization. The article examines examples of the adoption of a student-oriented approach to the organization of the educational process from the Danish pedagogical experience, which ensure the development of the personality potential of high school students.
