Plagiarism Policy

The Collection of Scientific Papers "Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Raising Children and Schoolchildren" accepts for publication only original materials (articles) that have not been previously published and have not been submitted simultaneously to other scientific publications.

The editorial board uses the StrikePlagiarism.com (Plag) program to detect plagiarism in submitted materials (articles). Materials (articles) containing plagiarism without proper references to the original sources are rejected by the editorial board for the purpose of further clarification of the reasons and circumstances of the detected plagiarism.

Detection of plagiarism before publication.
The editorial board of the Collection analyzes each case of possible plagiarism in scientific articles. If plagiarism is detected by the editorial board or reviewers at any stage before publication, the author(s) will be notified to determine whether the identified borrowings actually belong to other authors or, conversely, are the author’s own materials that have been used in other publications. If plagiarism is confirmed, the author will be asked to revise the text of the article or provide appropriate references to the sources used.

Plagiarism Check Policy.
Submitted materials (articles) in which plagiarism is detected are evaluated by two coefficients: KP1 — no more than 50%, KP2 — no more than 5%. If these indicators are exceeded, the material (article) is immediately returned to the authors for revision. During the check, the anti-plagiarism system also analyzes different levels of text modification. Based on the results of the check, the authors must eliminate the identified borrowings and resubmit the article in an updated version.

The percentage of plagiarism is determined using anti-plagiarism software and is assessed by the Expert Commission and the Academic Integrity Officer, who operate with the support of the founder of the collection of scientific works "Theoretical and Methodological Problems of Raising Children and Students" - the Institute of Educational Problems of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

Procedure for considering complaints regarding violations of academic integrity and publication ethics

Complaints about possible violations (plagiarism, dishonesty, conflict of interest, etc.) can be filed by:
• authors,
• reviewers,
• readers or other interested parties.
The complaint is submitted to the editorial office of the collection in written (electronic) form with justification and, if possible, evidence.
After that, the editorial office conducts an initial review of the complaint:
• registers the appeal;
• conducts a preliminary check of the facts stated;
• determines whether the complaint has grounds for further consideration.
If a possible violation is confirmed:
• the materials are submitted for consideration by the editorial board;
• independent experts or reviewers may be involved;
• an additional check is carried out (in particular, for plagiarism using specialized systems).
The editorial office must communicate with the author(s), namely:
• informs the author(s) about the essence of the complaint;
• provides the opportunity to provide explanations or objections;
• considers the position of all parties.
Based on the results of the review, the editorial board makes a decision, which may include:
• rejection of the manuscript;
• making corrections;
• withdrawal (retraction) of the published article;
• other measures according to the nature of the violation.
The following are notified of the decision:
• the applicant,
• the author(s),
• if necessary, the institution where the research was performed.
The editorial board reserves the right to refuse to consider the appeal if it is submitted in an offensive, threatening or defamatory form. Repeated appeals that do not contain new circumstances or evidence are not accepted for consideration. The final decision based on the results of the review of the complaint is made by the editor-in-chief together with the editorial board.
