FEATURES OF THE FUNCTIONING OF FOREIGN LANGUAGE DIGITAL ENVIRONMENT IN INSTITUTIONS OF PRESCHOOL EDUCATION
Abstract
The article highlights the relevance and demand for studying the peculiarities of the functioning of a foreign language digital environment in institutions of preschool education, which provides pedagogical support for parents of preschool children with didactic materials.
The purpose of the article is to highlight the peculiarities of the functioning of the digital foreign language environment in institutions of preschool education.
During the scientific search, a set of methods was used: bibliographic, analysis, and synthesis to study psychological and pedagogical literature, observation, and questionnaires to identify and determine the peculiarities of the functioning of the foreign language digital environment in institutions of preschool education.
The research results have shown that the general need of parents for the foreign language development of preschool children was established based on the learned experience of the operation of English language classes in institutions of preschool education.
The functions (communicative, informational, developmental, creative, coordinating) of the foreign language digital environment of institutions of preschool education within the framework of the Concept of Education of Children and Youth in the Digital Space (2021) have been determined.
Attention is paid to the content, organizational, and technological components of the foreign language digital environment in institutions of preschool education. Informative and target, procedural, control and evaluation criteria are selected for the declared components; prognostic, communication, and activity criteria; modular, external and internal criteria and their indicators are characterized.
Emphasis is placed on the readiness of teachers to stay together in a foreign language digital environment of institutions of preschool education which involves the consensus of goals, intentions, opportunities, and actions that create the integrity of the educational process between all teachers.
Support at the state level for the functioning of the foreign language environment in institutions of preschool education within the framework of the draft Law “On the use of the English language in Ukraine” No. 9432 dated 07/20/2023 was considered.
Highlighted functions (communication, information, development, creativity, coordination); components (content, organizational, technological components); readiness of teachers to stay together in the foreign language digital environment of institutions of preschool education, the need to implement an invariable component to Basic Component of Preschool Education, which includes the educational direction “Child’s Speech. English Language” and the implementation of appropriate steps that will contribute to the implementation of the specified direction in the conditions of institutions of preschool education determined the specifics of the functioning of the foreign language digital environment in institutions of preschool education.
