TO THE PROBLEM OF TEACHERS’ PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE IN PREVENTING AND OVERCOMING BULLYING AMONG TEENAGERS IN THE DIGITAL EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT
Abstract
The consolidating factor that positively affects the relationship in the classroom and parental team, as well as plays a vital role in the growth of professionalism, is the authority of the teacher, that is, the degree to which students and their parents recognize his or her competence, personal characteristics, qualities and spiritual values.
The importance of improving the professional competence of teachers, in particular classroom teachers, in preventing bullying among students is due to the fact that the classroom teacher is constantly in contact with the classroom team and each student in particular, and is closely connected and closest to the atmosphere of each student’s family. He cares about the comprehensive development of students, fostering hard work and teamwork, improving academic performance and strengthening discipline, and preparing them for work.
The purpose of the article is to clarify certain aspects of the professional competence of class teachers on the problem of preventing bullying in the extracurricular work of a general secondary education institution. The tasks of the article are to analyze class teachers’ answers regarding the prevention and overcoming of bullying among teenagers and the presentation of the seminar program for class teachers.
To find out the level of awareness of the importance of class teachers preventing bullying among students and to identify the levels of competence of teachers in preventing and overcoming bullying among teenagers, methods such as surveys, interviews with teachers, analysis of topics of pedagogical councils, methodological seminars, and speeches were used.
The results of the survey proved that teachers do not yet adequately understand the problem of preventing and overcoming bullying among students. There is a need to increase the level of competence of teachers in working with teenagers to prevent bullying, primarily in cooperation with the family.
The practical significance of the article is that its materials can be used in the organization of educational work of institutions of general secondary education, in the process of pedagogical practice of students.
