ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AND POLICIES OF SOCIAL RISK MITIGATION: THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become the most disruptive innovation in recent decades. Potential uses of AI and its possible competitive advantages have contributed to high interest in its implementation in various fields. Nevertheless, the intensive implementing AI can deepen existing social risks and lead to the emergence of new ones. The sphere of collective and individual security, the labour market, and education is where such innovation causes numerous dilemmas and discourses.
The purpose of the article is to outline the possible social risks of implementing AI technologies and to determine the vectors of transformation in educating a growing personality. To solve the research task, general scientific and special methods of cognition were applied. In particular, the analysis and generalization of theoretical ideas regarding the influence of AI technologies on social processes was carried out. The method of induction is used to determine the role of educating the growing personality in overcoming potential social risks.
Using powerful AI technologies in education is becoming a transformative challenge for national education systems since its capabilities can lead to a radical reformatting of the content of the educational process when traditional forms of assessment lose their meaning, and existing precedents demonstrate its ability to acceptably overcome some types of qualification assessment.
It is concluded that institutional policies and decisions based on AI can be discriminatory and lead to marginalization. This is due to the fact that personal values, prejudices, and implicit social norms determine the logic of social interaction. In this case, seemingly non-obvious facts have caused specific actions and deeds that can lead to social fractures and gaps. It is established that implementing balanced and inclusive institutional policies should be combined with educating a person’s humanistic values as a basis for overcoming social risks. The fundamental thing should be educating the growing personality since the key performer of any social change is a personality.
