CAREER ORIENTATION TECHNOLOGY FOR THE FORMATION OF THE STUDENTS’ CAREER ORIENTATION IN THE CONDITIONS OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Abstract

For students of institutions of general secondary education, even in these difficult conditions caused by the negative socio-economic consequences of martial law, the process of professional choice must take place. This will determine students’ career orientation and develop the foundation of professional and value orientations.
This determines the expediency of the continuation of scientific research in the direction of ensuring the formation of students’ career orientation in institutions of general secondary education, especially in view of the continued deployment of the reform of the New Ukrainian School and the start of a specialized school based on it in Ukraine since 2027. It is time to modernize and completely update the program and methodological support of the process of professional self-determination of education seekers, the development of career orientation technology for the formation of students’ career orientation in institutions of general secondary education, especially in the conditions of professional education based on the New Ukrainian School.
The purpose of the article is to consider the aspects of making the career orientation technology for the formation of students’ career orientation in institutions of general secondary education in the conditions of professional education.
A number of methods were used to reveal the problem defined in the purpose of the article: theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison and generalization); study of documents (directive documents on education, materials of psychological and pedagogical research, etc.).
The successful implementation of the reform of New Ukrainian School directly depends on effective interaction between the parties involved in its deployment, as well as on the development of an effective toolkit to ensure the activities of all subjects of the New Ukrainian School complex. The development of technology for the formation of students’ career orientation in institutions of general secondary education in the conditions of professional education should become one of the components of such a toolkit. This technology should ensure the formation of students’ readiness for a conscious choice of specialization in high school by providing thorough information about the content, structure, requirements of each field of professional education, possible directions of continuing education after finishing institutions of general secondary education, deepening knowledge about the nature of the work of the most attractive professional spheres for the student and ways of acquiring the relevant profession.
The article emphasizes that the career orientation technology for the formation of students’ career orientation in institutions of general secondary education should take into account the need to form professional and value orientations towards work, have a clear structure, and contain constituent elements, the effectiveness of which has been proven by research carried out in previous years by employees of the Laboratory of Education of Readiness for of the Labour Market of the Institute of Problems on Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine.
