CULTURE OF LIFE SAFETY OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE CONDITIONS OF CHALLENGES AND THREATS
Abstract
This article constitutes an extension of the author’s series of scientific publications focusing on formіng a culture of life safety of children and youth during wartime. The research outlines a range of issues that will require further solving in updating the process of the formation of the culture of life safety of children and youth at the level of state and executive authorities, educational institutions, civil society organizations, and particularly among the youth themselves.
To achieve the goal of the article, the following methods were used: theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis and systematization, comparison, generalization), studying the normative documents regarding children’s life safety, empirical methods (analysis of survey results, questionnaires, observations, expert evaluation), statistical methods.
The results of the All-Ukrainian survey on safety culture of children and youth, conducted by the Laboratory of Moral, Civic and Intercultural Education of the Institute of Problems on Education of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine, are presented. The key aspects of education of safety culture are updated taking into account the challenges and threats that make it necessary to review approaches to education of safety culture of children and youth in the conditions of martial law and post-war reconstruction.
The research data obtained allow us to conclude the need to modernize the he content of education on the formation of a culture of safety life of children and youth in view of risks and challenges, in particular, strengthening the component of acquiring practical skills for actions in emergencies.
The practical significance of the research is that the materials can be used in institutions of general secondary education, out-of-school education, and higher education, as well as in the work of youth affairs departments of government administrations and united territorial communities, public associations, and social services involved with children and youth.
